Here at Lobina, our focus is always on our customers. We strive each and every day to implement policies and procedures that take their best interests into account. With Brexit on the horizon, we want to ensure that our customers have all of the information they need to keep the wheels turning. Let’s take a look down below to learn all about our plan.
Brexit’s Effect On The Transportation Industry
When the UK officially leaves the EU on 31st December 2020, there’s really no telling what might unfold. At the time, the UK does not wish to extend the transitional period, even in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. With that said, negotiations towards an effective free trade agreement are ongoing. However, even with all of this uncertainty, Lobina is prepared and ready to support you and your transportation needs.
New Customs Procedures Begin 1 January 2021
On January 1st, any and all freight movements between the UK and the EU will be subjected to new customs procedures, which could significantly impact the efficiency with which your transportation and logistics operations are completed. All goods transported between the EU and the UK will also be subjected to customs procedures. In addition, they’ll also be subjected to duty.
Here at Lobina, we’re making every effort to limit the effects that Brexit might have on our customers to ensure and efficient and seamless service for our customers. However, we are also very well aware of the fact that there will be challenges and obstacles outside of our control for a period of time. With that said, we are planning ahead to factor in longer lead times to ensure that we have enough time to plan accordingly.
